The Puckerings and The Priory

If you are local to Warwick you will have been up Puckering's Lane – but you may not have realised it.

This is a new road, a short road, just 100 yards long. Nothing much to catch the eye, but the history behind this short road is long, going back hundreds of years. This is the only road of that name in the United Kingdom – probably the world. Unique to Warwick.

So, who were the Puckerings? Why were they important to the town? What was their legacy? And what happened to the heiress to the family fortune, Jane?

Local history enthusiast, Trevor Langley, unearths the story of the Puckerings and their home in Warwick, The Priory.
