Pauline Prior-Pitt will be taking us to the Island of North Uist, where she lives. The poems in her latest collection, “Written on the Shore” were initially scribbled in her notebook during walks on her favourite beach. They follow footprints, pick up shells, examine our feelings about the sea, imagine the sea to be in love with a woman who walks along the edge of the tide. Pauline will also read new poems about a particular time in the island’s history. And she will finish by reminding us of a few of her women’s poems, taken from her selected works, “Be an Angel”.
