Roman Warwick

Saturday 7 October
Castle Hill Baptist Church

Recent archaeological discoveries in and around Warwick shed new light on the development of this area under the Roman Empire.

In this talk, Caroline Rann and Dr Jerry Evans from Archaeology Warwickshire will explore recent finds that date from the Roman period, from AD43 to AD410.

As commercial archaeologists and Roman pottery specialists, most of their work is funded by developers through the planning process – and that’s not as dull as it might sound ... teams from Archaeology Warwickshire work where developers develop, rather than where the best evidence suggests, and so only ever see part of a picture that only partly survives: a jigsaw with most of the pieces missing!
