Warwick Words History Festival Service
The Service takes place in the historic setting of St Mary’s Church, itself a living document of history in Warwick, the British Isles and Europe. The building has Norman foundations, fine medieval architecture and a 17th century nave, after part of the church was destroyed providing shelter to those affected by the Great Fire of Warwick.
At this year’s Warwick Words History Festival Service, it is a great pleasure to welcome back as our guest preacher the Very Revd David Brindley, a former Vicar of St Mary’s and recently retired Dean of Portsmouth Cathedral. Whilst in Warwick, he wrote a notable account of the life of Richard Beauchamp – Medieval England’s Greatest Knight and will be sharing some historical perspectives during our service of Choral Matins. Join us in the marvellous setting of St Mary’s historic church for some wonderful music and stimulating ideas.
