PRESS RELEASE 25 October 2024
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WARWICK WORDS HISTORY FESTIVAL AND LEAMINGTON MUSIC ‘IN SEARCH OF BEETHOVEN’ WITH CLASSIC FM’S JOHN SUCHET

Warwick Words History Festival and Leamington Music are looking forward to welcoming Classic FM’s John Suchet for a special talk to mark the release of his new book ‘In Search of Beethoven’.
In this deeply personal account of his relationship with the composer, John charts Beethoven’s journey from his early years in Bonn to his adult life in Vienna, interweaving his own story as he follows in the composer’s footsteps.
‘In Search of Beethoven’ draws on the latest research from Cambridge University and the Max Planck Institute to shed light on Beethoven’s ancestry and health, and offers fresh insights into his heritage, health struggles and pivotal events in his life, including his interactions with Mozart.
Warwick Words Executive Director Helen Meeke said, ‘As well as having had a successful career in television news journalism, J0hn Suchet is an authority on Beethoven. He has based ‘In Search of Beethoven’ on meticulous research and his insightful storytelling shows the composer in a wholly new light.’
‘In Search of Beethoven’ is a Warwick Words History Festival and Leamington Music joint event and takes place Sunday 24 November 7.30 p.m., Studio, Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa. Tickets cost £20 and are on sale either online at www.warwickwords.co.uk, or by telephoning the Box Office 01926 33 44 18, or in person at Leamington Spa and Warwick Visitor Information Centres.
