The History of the British Sports Car

Tuesday 6 October
Warwick Racecourse, 1707 Suite
10.30am

How do you define the sports car?

The first car to be accredited as Britain’s first true sports car is the 1910 Vauxhall Prince Henry, but the desire for motoring speed, glamour and danger goes well back before this date – from the racing carriages of the 18th century, as far back as vehicles of the classical Roman and Egyptian eras.

Join volunteers from the British Motor Museum as they investigate a century of the development of the British sports car, from the earliest times to the current day. All the old favourites – Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Morgan – have their place, moulded by an ever-changing social, political and economic landscape.
