Beyond the Lobby: Warwick Arms Hotel
Friday 3 October
Castle Hill Baptist Church (NB: New venue)
10.30am
Step with us beyond the doors of Warwick’s most famous hotel.
Travel back to the days of the stagecoach to hear tales of an infamous local highwayman, who terrorised guests on their way to and from the hotel. Revisit the era of the Warwick Trams – including the crashed tram, which set off from outside the Warwick Arms on its ill-fated journey.
Meet some of the famous people who stayed here – from royalty and nobility to Admiral Lord Nelson and Lady Emma Hamilton, Frank Sinatra and even the Village People!
This illustrated talk by local historian Trevor Langley takes you ‘Beyond the Lobby’ and down the corridors of the hotel to explore 300 years of a diverse and colourful history.
